Fountani Mountain Resort Estate consists of breath-taking priceless 896 hectare (2,216 Acres) operational leisure resort. The farm borders on the ever thriving art, cultural and tourism mecca belt of Clarens – a premier national destination zone. It is within one hour’s drive from Lesotho along with the Afriski snow sport resort, the Golden Gate national park near the Drakensburg Amphitheater resorts. The Estate / Farm boasts a sandstone amphitheater with towering cliffs and overhangs, hundreds of meters above a quaint well-approved 60 seat double story restaurant dwarfed by enormous backdrop of the mountain. A 300 hectare (741 Acres) plateau on the mountain top of natural fauna and flora makes for a future heavenly bush camp accessible by hikers and 4X4 enthusiasts. Weaving its way around the estate / farm is almost 8 kilometers (5 miles) of the Little Caledon River ideal for wildlife sighting, bird-watching, fishing, rafting and leisurely forest meanders. On the Estate / farm is the main sandstone homestead: It is 350 square meters with four bedrooms, all on-suite, large dining room and lounge and a kitchen with a coal stove and 2 fireplaces. There are also two huge sheds and two big workshops areas. Currently the estate has five fully furnished luxury chalets. Plans to build 76 luxury homes, general facilities and an additional 27 cottages have been investigated in depth. Plans were drawn up by an agricultural engineer to build a large dam on the property. Apart from the farm being used as an Estate, the current farming activities consist of cattle, sheep and various crops that are planted and harvested from time to time.
