Originally built as a country "Casino" for hunting and leisure, it was erected in the first half of the 15th century at the behest of Andrea Matteo II d'Acquaviva, a scion of a noble family related to the Sforzas and Viscontis. In 1688, the building was donated by the Duchess of Atri to the Franciscan friars, who transformed it into a convent, given the presence of the adjacent Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, which, with the Palace, forms a single monumental complex. In 1871, after the suppression of religious orders, the Palace became the headquarters of a sericulture establishment for silkworm breeding. After being subsequently transformed into a farmhouse, a local agricultural entrepreneur purchased this valuable property in 1999. With great skill and respect, and in agreement with the local Superintendence, the Palace has been restored to its former glory, revealing its fascinating and historically rich character.

Sorto come Casino di campagna, adibito alla caccia ed allo svago, fu edificato nella prima metà del XV secolo per volere di Andrea Matteo II d'Acquaviva, rampollo di nobile casata imparentata con gli Sforza ed i Visconti. Nel 1688 l'edificio fu donato dalla Duchessa di Atri ai frati francescani, che lo trasformarono in un convento, vista la presenza dell'attigua chiesa di Santa Maria degli Angeli, che costituisce col Palazzo un unico complesso monumentale. Nel 1871, dopo la soppressione degli ordini religiosi, il Palazzo divenne sede di uno stabilimento bacologico per l'allevamento del baco da seta. Dopo essere stato trasformato successivamente in casa colonica, nel 1999 un imprenditore agricolo locale acquistò questa pregiata struttura. Con grande sapienza e rispetto e di concerto con la Soprintendenza locale, il Palazzo è stato riportato agli antichi splendori, rivelandone il carattere affascinante e denso di Storia. Sul lotto è presente una possibilità di edificare 2,490 mq. di superficie residenziale, e 2.656 mq. di superficie turistico-ricettiva.
